Anja Wolper's bachelor's thesis "Lightweight Provenance Capturing for Simulation Studies" received the award for the best bachelor thesis 2022.
The thesis was supervised by Andreas Ruscheinski (VAC), Pia Wilsdorf (VAC) and Prof. Adelinde Uhrmacher (VAC).
In her thesis, Ms. Wolpers developed a lightweight, non-intrusive method for automatic provenance capturing. The method observes modelers in their familiar working environment and thus records provenance automatically and transparently - with minimal additional effort for users. The approach supports making simulation studies traceable and reproducible. The approach can be flexibly extended by additional so-called "capturers", e.g., to include further simulation systems, text editors or data formats.
