On 5 and 6 March, Adelinde Uhrmacher and Anja Wolpers attended the kick-off meeting for ADAPTI-M, a project that has been running since 1 January 2026.
ADAPTI-M stands for „Modellierung der nächsten Generation: Adaptives System zur Unterstützung der Entscheidungsfindung im Bereich der öffentlichen Gesundheit bei Pandemien von Atemwegsinfektionen“ (Next-Generation Modelling: Adaptive Decision Support System for Public Health in Respiratory Infection Pandemics) and is a BMFTR-funded project involving 11 institutions. The project aims to further develop the agent-based model "German Epidemic Microsimulation System" (GEMS), which simulates the spread of infectious diseases and the impact of countermeasures including non-pharmaceutical interventions (NPIs) in Germany. Adelinde Uhrmacher leads a sub-project on intelligent NPI strategy generation and optimisation, in which Anja Wolpers is employed as a research associate.
